sought-after Master Dancer and Instructor, as she leads a Two-Part
Workshop on the elegance of veilwork for danse orientale and the
funky fun of folklore in today’s pop music
Part One: Samara focuses on technique to create
beautiful veil work. Emphasis on carriage, breath and body lines,
traveling steps and variation of turns to create beautiful images
with the veil, with extra attention to arm positions and the veil as
an extension of your body movement.
Part Two: Samara works with different styles of
pop music and how to embellish it with traditional Folklore.

repertoire of original folkloric dance and traditional dances of the

combine elements of traditional nomadic storytelling, elegant and
enchanting traditional ‘belly-dance’, and artistically choreographed

Meet & Greet on Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 7:30 – 8:30 PM at the

thousand years ago, during those fabled thousand and one nights, a
certain queen wove a fantastic tale about a poor fisherman who
uncorks a djinni in a bottle. Mosaic Dance Theater Company
presents its breathtaking story theater adaptation of The Fisherman
and the Djinni, along with The King of the Ebony Isles, both tales
from the Arabian nights. This world premiere production is filled
with spectacular Middle Eastern dance.

Dance Theater Company presents a Master Class and Complete
Choreography in Middle Eastern Dance with Samara of New York.
Samara is a protégé of the late Ibrahim Farrah and was a featured
performer in his Near East Dance Group. The Workshop will include a
full warm-up and complete choreography for oriental dance. Register
by January 15, 2006 and receive a $5.00 discount off a ticket to the
Mosaic performance on January 29. |
