Samara Adell, the Company's Artistic Director for Dance, is the Choreographer. She will be exploring many different styles of dance for this production. Samara also dances the title role of Cassandra.

Nina Brewton, dancing with MDTC since the first production in 2003, performs as a member of the dance ensemble. She also performed in the past Hawaiian, Tahitian, Māori (New Zealand) and Samoan dances with several Polynesian Dance Companies.

RUTH CANTRELL, Playwright, has had her works produced throughout the US, Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia. Ruth is a member of the Dramatist Guild. Her Theater-for-Youth scripts are published by Youthplays. Ruth is thrilled to be working with MDTC on the world premiere of “Cassandra: An Ongoing Tragedy.”

July Choi, originally from South Korea, is a New York–based actor and musical theater performer who trained and performed in musicals, plays, and children’s theatre in Seoul before continuing her education in New York. She is interested in exploring greater diversity in women characters. In "Cassandra," July portrays the characters of Kim, Annie, and Persephone.

Michael Ficocelli, Composer, has studied the different forms of international music, and incorporates those sounds into his exciting score for “Cassandra.” His awards include Lehman Engel Award for musical theater, ASCAP Awards Panel Prize. His work “From Death to Hope,” commemorating victims of the Holocaust was performed at Auschwitz, Poland, and Dachau, Germany.

Ihsanah Iman is a NYC-based actor and multidisciplinary theater artist specializing in physical, devised, and experimental performance. Selected credits include "The Adventures of Virginia and Orlando" at The Acting Company by Kevin Khulke and "FRNKNSTN" by Jaclyn Backhaus. For MDTC, she plays the characters of Maryam, Brenda, and Saraya.

Kendra Dushac McCarthy has performed with MDTC since 2010. She also works with several other companies in NYC and is a NeuroMyoFascia specialist. Kendra is part of the dance ensemble for "Cassandra."

Heather Panikkar has performed with MDTC since 2015. She also works with other dance companies in NYC and is a New York City Department of Education dance teacher. For "Cassandra," Heather is a member of the dance ensemble.

Mina Rose, originally from Switzerland, now calls New York City her home. She trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and completed the Certificate program at The Ailey School. Mina brings her diverse talents in dance and Theater to the dance ensemble,

Katherine Shamdin, originally from Mattoon, Illinois, graduated with her BFA. in Dance from The University of Iowa, where she performed in modern and contemporary works. Katherine now makes New York City her home, and is excited to be a part of the dance ensemble. Katherine teaches at BalletTech in their Ballet Tech Across New York Program and enjoys performing with MDTC.

Cheick Sy-Savane is a New York City-raised actor who has spent the past several years building a dynamic career across film and television, landing over 20 lead roles. With a strong foundation in Shakespeare, Cheick brings precision, presence, and emotional depth to classical and contemporary work alike. In this production, he is taking on the roles of Hades, Talthybius, and a Former G.I., exploring the power, tension, and complexity of each character.

Sofía Terceros A. is a Bolivian actress based in New York. She trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Before venturing as an actor in NYC, Sofía studied and worked as an architect in Switzerland for several years, becoming fluent in Italian and German as well. She is excited to keep bringing her international experiences and talents in dance and theater to NYC stages. Sofía is honored to be joining the cast as Lupe and Delores.
